Fried Max line up to start Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday night against the Astros. The Braves failed to claim their first World Series title since 1995 in Sunday’s Game 5 loss to the Astros at Truist Park in Atlanta, but they will have another chance Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The 27-year-old’s dynamic left-handed lightning ignited for six rounds on seven strokes across five innings last Wednesday in a Game 2 loss to the Braves. He allowed 11 runs on 15 hits in 9 2/3 frames during his last two postseason starts. Needless to say, this would be the most important start of his professional career.

Astros manager Dusty Baker said Monday that it’s possible Jose Urquidy could be available to pitch in Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday, he’d “prefer not” to use it. Urquidy scored an inning in Game 5, which kept him out for the start of Game 6. He may be in line to start Game 7 if there is one, but he will be available in an emergency for Game 6 with the Astros trying to prevent elimination. Luis Garcia started Tuesday with a short break, with Cristian Javier and Jake Odorizzi available as multi-inning options behind him.
